NCF National Ministry

• Thank God for Karen Berquist's faithful ministry in the Seattle area. Pray that God will strengthen her as she shares Jesus' love with students and nurses of diverse backgrounds and interests.
• Ask God to bring nurses and students to the weekend retreat, "Crazy Love: What, So What, Now What?" at Round Top, Texas, Feb. 3-5, 2012. May they receive God's loving rest and give love to others in return
• Thank God for Sandra Jamison, NCF volunteer staff, as she helps plan the Innovations in Nursing Conference at Indiana Wesleyan U in June 2012. Pray that nurse educators, clinicians, and students will come to explore new approaches to serving Jesus as teachers and care-givers.
• Pray for Grace Tazelaar and the team planning seminars on healthcare missions at the Urbana 12 Student Missions Conference in December 2012. Ask God for wisdom as they select topics and speakers.

Student & Faculty Ministry

• Praise God for answered prayer at Wichita State U and Newman U, (KS) where faculty are ministering to students. Pray that students will meet in small groups for in-depth Bible study and will respond to his love and gift of salvation.
• Pray for NCF ministry to grow in Southwest Florida at Florida Gulf Coast U and Edison State College. Pray that NCF students will be bold in inviting their friends to Bible study and discussing spiritual topics.
• Pray for Christian faculty who serve as NCF faculty advisors. Ask God to give them wisdom, endurance, and joy as they teach and mentor students. May they embrace the important role they have as educators who are part of God’s mission at schools of nursing nationwide.
• We thank God for new NCF chapters on campuses in California, North Carolina and New Jersey. Pray for those leaders who have a vision to start chapters in Indiana, California and Texas.
• Pray that students in NCF chapters would grow spiritually and have an impact for the gospel on their campus as they reach out to students and faculty.
• Ask God to give volunteer staff Miriam and Chrissy wisdom and discernment as they lead students in Bible study at UNC Greensboro and the U of South Florida. Ask God to reveal himself to the students they mentor.
• Thank God for Amanda who desires to serve as an NCF volunteer at UMass Boston. Pray that God will provide time, energy, and wisdom for her as she balances graduate studies and ministry opportunities.

Publications, Resources and Networking

• Please pray for the authors who write regularly for the Journal of Christian Nursing: Carrie, Kristene, Sharon, Maureen, Pamela, Bernita, Susan, Mary, Sonya, Sandy, Kathy and Cathy.
• Ask God to inspire nurses to write substantive feature articles for the JCN and for the wise editorial guidance of Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner, JCN editor, and Cathy Walker, associate editor.
• Pray that students and nurses who interact with NCF social media and the NCF website will seek to know God more deeply and will choose to follow nursing with their whole lives.

Global Ministry

• Pray for Connie Jarlsberg, Grace Tazelaar, and others in the Center for the Study of Health in Missions as they develop Best Practices for service-learning programs in nursing. Ask God to guide Connie and Grace as they equip nursing faculty to design effective and fruitful service-learning programs for students.
• Praise God for Nurses Christian Fellowship International and the nurses around the world who are following Jesus in nursing. Ask God to bring nurses and students to the quadrennial NCFI conference in Santiago, Chile in November 2012. Pray that God will guide the conference planners and presenters.
