Welcome to the "new" Campus Vitals, now coming to you monthly during the school year. We hope this newsletter will:

• help you get more connected with Nurses Christian Fellowship
• give you valuable, timely information for your campus ministry

Each month we will highlight different topics that we've planned out according to the school year.  We are always open to ideas, so feel free to email them to Bonnie Hann.

New Student Orientation Ideas and Resources

Schools welcome new students in many ways, but there usually is some opportunity to share about student activities and organizations.  More...

  • Check with your school to find out how to get in your school's student organization fair
  • Think through the supplies you might need – table; posters or decorations to show you are a student Nurses Christian Fellowship group; a sign up sheet for more information; some small things to hand out (Tootsie rolls are great)
  • Have 1-3 students at the table to be available to answer questions.
  • Consider having your next meeting time and place, along with a contact name and number, on a small card for the new student to take with them

We have many resources already made up for you to order or download. More...

Don't forget to cover the beginning of the school year in prayer! We are praying for you too!

2 Plus Prayer Card

Freebies - We would like to send our groups some free prayer cards (for students to use in praying for friends – we'll explain more in the next Campus Vitals) and student ministry brochures.  If you think your group would use these, please email Email Bonnie with your name and mailing address.  The first 10 people to respond to this offer will also get some NCF pens and post it notes, so respond quickly.

John 15:5-17 (New International Version)

John 155"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.

Go through the passage and circle all the times it says "remain".

In this passage, the word "remain" means to continue being, to stay or to endure.

Who or what should we remain in?

What then will remain in us?

Why should we remain?  What will the results be?

How should we remain (vs. 10 and 17)?

What does remaining look like for you right now?

What do you need to work on in order to bear fruit?

  1. Remaining
  2. Obeying
  3. Asking
  4. Loving

Take some time to pray about this right now.  Ask God to help you to see the areas you can work on this year as you remain in him. Write down at least two specific things you are going to work on to help you grow spiritually and bear fruit with God's help.
