Passing the Baton

batonNow is the time to start thinking about leadership for your group next year. The beginning of the new semester is a great time for current leaders to mentor next year's leaders. What does this look like?

  • First, see who might be interested in a leadership role or who you might approach that as leadership qualities.
  • Talk to the person who will be stepping into your role.
  • Share all the things you wished someone would have told you. Write it in a notebook for future leaders.
  • Describe your responsibilities.
  • Brainstorm about ideas for the coming year.
  • Have the mentee shadow you during the semester to learn the role.

Good communication now, including answering questions, can make the leadership transition go smoothly.

Austin Community College Reaches Out

Austin CCDuring finals week at Austin Community College (TX), faculty advisors Emily Grigsby and Lea Melvin opened a classroom to allow students to come in for rest, food, and prayer.

Their prayer was that many students searching for comfort would come and find the peace and comfort that only the Lord can bring.

More than 20 students came to this NCF open house throughout the day. "It was a real blessing," Emily said.
