As a young woman Connie was challenged by an elderly friend to choose a "verse of the year". Connie's verse for 2009 is: Phil 1: 9-11 This is my prayer that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruits of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God.
Connie has recently returned to the United States following 16 years of ministry in Africa. She looks forward to bringing the Buganda tribal concept of the "senga" (the paternal aunt) into the lives of her brothers' children her nephew and three nieces, assisting them to make wise decisions in their lives. She is enjoying living with her Dad who has always been the picture of God the Father for her.
Connie is a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, MI where she was active in leading Bible studies and singing in the choir. She is becoming reacquainted with the church of her childhood where she first met Jesus; Willerup Methodist Church in Cambridge, WI "the oldest Scandinavian Methodist church in the world" planted in 1851.
Connie loves to share stories of Africa and God's faithfulness over a cup of good Ugandan coffee or chai. Doing morning laps in the pool allows her uninterrupted prayer time. She also enjoys cheering the University of Michigan Wolverines and the Green Bay Packers on to victory (some years more happily than others). |
